SEO is all about numbers, so it’s quite fitting that Smart Monkey took home a gong at the UK Digital Excellence Awards award for one of its accountancy clients.
Picking up the award for SEO Campaign of the Year (B2B) for our work with Perrys Accountants shows that although we’re small, we’re delivering on a big scale.
The work with Perrys started when the established Kent-based business wanted to expand into the capital, only to have been put off due to the competition. But we’re not afraid of competition, so we got to work.
After trying expensive direct mail campaigns that didn’t deliver, the team put their focus on SEO, so it was down to us to make sure we delivered.
Our strategic meetings with the team resulted in a commitment to:
- improve SEO foundations to create a technically clean website
- ramp up local visibility for the London branches
- drive high volumes of traffic to increase the authority of the site, and enable it to compete with more established, high-ranking websites in the competitive London market
Our work included on-page and technical work to bring the site up to standard. On-page, we looked at the many thin pages and completely rewrote them to optimise them for search, as well as making sure they would add value for customers. We also added new pages to tap into search trends and focus on high-priority keywords.
We also did a technical SEO audit and cleaned up the site which included removing inconsistencies in citations and building citations to improve local ranking results, amongst other things.
The competition may have been fierce, but it hasn’t stopped us from delivering amazing results. We have more than doubled impressions, clicks, and leads in the last 18 months.
From zero Google visibility in the top 100 for any of their sector-related search terms in London, we ended up:
- doubling impressions, clicks and leads
- taking them to #4 on the local map
- achieving page 1 of the organic search results for a number of priority keywords
- achieving #3 ranking for their holy grail keyword ‘Accountant London’
- and, importantly, increasing monthly leads by 151%, showcasing ROI
The result is huge business growth and a client who puts their faith in us to deliver day in, and day out.
